and my dad and I built an adventurous tree fort behind the garage of our New Jersey home. The world of treehouses, carpentry, and design continued to captivate me through college in Colorado, where I met my wonderful wife, Judy.

Our twin sons, Henry & Charlie, are both skilled carpenters who often travel with the rest of the crew to bring our client’s wildest treehouse dreams to life. Our daughter, Emily, is at the helm of our treehouse HQ. In addition to overseeing project operations, Emily founded our online store, Be in a Tree, where you can purchase our treehouse plans, lifestyle goods, and the same heavy-duty hardware we use in our builds worldwide. The family business also brought Emily her husband, Patrick—he’s a lead carpenter on our construction team. Douglas, their son, is our first grandchild and has brought so much joy to our lives!
